We encourage learners to experiment with ideas, be open minded and see things from different perspectives.

Welcome to our School

St Michael and All Angels CE Infant School …a branch of The Oaks CE Learning Federation.

St Michael and All Angels C.E. Infant School is a highly successful school which offers excellent educational opportunities to all the young children of Lyndhurst and its surrounding villages. We are proud of a school culture that is both challenging but grounded in a strong and caring Christian ethos.

Our School at Lyndhurst has a history that goes back to the middle of the 19th century and it has seen considerable changes during that time. Originally the Village School, it has also been a Primary School, a First School and, since 1992, an Infant School.

In recent times our school has been beautifully redeveloped. The old Victorian buildings are now in tune with the needs of an innovative 21st century Infant School. This is a thriving school, which is an important and central part of the community, ensuring the continued enrichment of community life in the village.

We have high expectations of all members of the school community; children, teachers, parents and governors, and we work in partnership with them to provide the best possible education at this important time in your child’s development.

A Welcome from the Revd Dr James Bruce, Vicar.

As a church school, we benefit from a historic, living, vibrant relationship with our local churches. St Michael’s Church, herself over 800 years old, bought the land and set up St Michael’s School in 1846 to bring God’s blessing to our village children and their families. Church and school life has a three-way focus: UP to God; IN to our own development; OUT to others in the wider community and world. Beating at the heart of this is the life and teaching of Jesus Christ who said he is ‘The Way, The Truth, The Life’. Churches and school have thus together formed a beating heart to generations of our village communities.
